This September, Lambeth Heritage Festival takes place. A programme of free events and activities all about the history and heritage of the borough, and its communities led by Lambeth Archives.
On Wednesday 4th September, 8pm at Carnegie Library, Alan Piper of the Brixton Society and Len Reilly of Lambeth Archives will tell the story of Herne Hill’s development as a suburb and explain the sources and help that Lambeth Archives can provide to trace the history of the areas houses and buildings.

Lambeth Heritage Festival has been brought together by Lambeth Archives and the Lambeth Local History Forum – the organisation which represents the shared interest all of the borough’s local societies in Lambeth’s local history. There will be 40 separate events taking place throughout September, including guided tours, talks, exhibitions, workshops and more.
